THE HAMMOCK: BACKSTAGE PRODUCTION

Our artisans are characterized by their impeccable craftsmanship to create one of a kind pieces.  Tradition, natural textures, unique designs, and unmatched quality come together to create each item.   Our hammocks and slings are handwoven by fourth generation artisan weavers with flawless craftsmanship rooted in their tradition.

MAKING THE SPREADER BAR

Eco-friendly, renewable cedar (Cedro Macho) or bay cedar (Guácimo) wood is selected to be hand processed into the spreader bars, giving it a natural, rustic look.

TWISTING THE THREAD

High quality cotton yarn cones are hand twisted with a wooden wheel to give it the caliber needed for high resistance and performance.  A pulley system is used to twist the cotton into yarn.  The process is done manually with a team of 3 people.  All the process is Eco-Friendly.

WEAVING THE HAMMOCK'S BODY

The artisans place two vertical parallel wooden poles to start weaving the hammock's body.  The body of the hammock itself is woven horizontally with a wooden needle until they complete the full body.

ASSEMBLY OF THE HAMMOCK

The assembly process is very intricate as all the final details have to come together.  The final steps include the making and assembly of the hammock arms that hold it together. It also includes the weaving of the arms.

QUALITY CONTROL

Every hammock is inspected thoroughly by an experienced quality control team.  Manufacturing defects are rare but when detected the hammock is sent back to assembly to make the appropriate corrections.

THE FINAL RESULT

Is a hand made import quality hammock with the highest quality materials for you to enjoy for years to come.
